Domain properties of Sr0.61-xBa0.39Nb2O6:Ce-x(3+) (SBN:Ce) are examined by dielectric spectroscopy, piezoelectric force microscopy (PFM) and optical second harmonic generation (SHG). Fractal-like nanodomains are observed with PFM in its initial state below T-C . Their size distribution fits well to a power-law with exponential cutoff as predicted from computer simulations. An analysis of the SHG-intensity yields the temperature dependence of the correlation length of the polar clusters. The low frequency dielectric response stems from irreversible domain wall motions.
