dc.description.abstractWe have subcloned and sequenced the genes malF and malM of Salmonella typhimurium, thereby completing the determination of the nucleotide sequence of its `maltose B' regulon. The malM gene, encoding a periplasmic protein of unknown function in Escherichia coli, is a highly conserved as genes encoding proteins of known function from the same region.
