Zusammenfassung:
In high quality BaTiO3 crystals without trapping defects conduction electrons form Ti3+ polarons, their stabilization energy being caused by a Jahn-Teller effect. Depending on locally fluctuating potentials, tunable by uniaxial stress, small, intermediate, and banding electrons are identified by EPR. There are indications that also bipolarons are present.
