Zusammenfassung:
To illustrate the relaxation principles that have been analyzed in an abstract way in Chaps. 6-10, we now turn to some numerical data, based on a certain type of models. These models are still rather abstract and may thus be viewed as extremely reduced and simplified models for a whole class of concrete physical situations. The models are always taken to consist of (cf. Fig. 9.1) the considered system S, the environment E, and the interaction. Straightforward numerical solutions of the corresponding time-dependent Schrödinger equations already demonstrate local equilibration. © 2009 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
