Summary and outlook

Abstract

Adaptive management favours management practices that are sufficiently robust and flexible to cope with the uncertainties and inevitable surprises that are endemic in natural resource planning. In NeWater, adaptive management has been portrayed as a ‘systematic process for improving management policies and practices by learning from the outcomes of implemented management strategies' (Pahl-Wostl, 2007). © Dr Jaroslav Mysiak, 2010.
