Zusammenfassung:
The S1 AWMF1 guideline, "Occupational Skin Products", lays emphasis on the fact that the protective impact of topical products should be proven in humans through in vivo methods. The updated ABD/DGAUM joint guideline ("Occupational Skin Products") contains information about the appropriate use of skin protective agents, skin cleansers and skin care products. In the context of recent clinical and epidemiological studies, the benefit of using skin protective agents and skin care products in primary and secondary prevention was largely confirmed. The guideline also clearly specifies the need for the presentation of the proof of efficacy of skin protective products and skin cleansing agents using in vivo-methods in terms of repetitive applications. For this purpose, transferable and standardised test procedures to de- Termine the irritation potential and the resulting skin tolerance of occupational skin cleansers and to reduce the irritation caused by skin protective products have been developed in joint research projects by two universities, and validated multi centrically. Aspects of safety (e.g. the current debate on the use of aluminum chloro- hydrate in skin care products) as well as the problem of sensitisation to preservatives and fragrances as ingredients of occupational skin products are also addressed.
