Zusammenfassung:
The authors deals with the issue of the compatibility of family and job from the perspective of three different groups of women: immigrants/industrial migrants from Turkey, resettled women from the former Soviet Union, and West-German women. The results of the central study of a current empirical project are presented. Although the problem of compatibility presents itself as generally specific to women, its solution is handled differently by the three groups of women. This is attributed to both the women's respective social status in the Federal Republic of Germany and the immigrants' respective professional and familial situation in the context of their origin.
