The excess enthalpies of liquid alloys in the ternary system Ga-Bi-Te were determined at 1173 K for five sections GayBi1-yTe with y = 0.2, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, and 0.8 and for the section Ga0.5Bi0.5 -Te at 1073 K in a heat flow calorimeter. The enthalpy surface of the system is characterized by a valley of exothermic minima from Ga2Te3 to Bi2Te3. The exothermic enthalpies decrease with increasing temperature, due to the dissociation of associates. The excess enthalpies in the binary systems with tellurium and the ternary system were modelled with the association model using Lukas' program; in the Ga-Bi-Te system ternary interactions had to be used.
