dc.description.abstractQuadratic polarization-optic coefficients of paraelectric KTa1-xNbxO3 crystals with different mole fractions x are measured by an interferometric technique. The coefficient g(33) is within /-10% independent of temperature in the range 10 degrees C < T - T-C < 60 degrees C, but shows a linear dependence on the mole fraction x: in the investigated range 0.35 < x < 0.41, the relation g(33) = (-1.72 x 0.80) m(4)A(-2)s(-2) is valid.
