The excess enthalpies of the liquid Cu-Sn-Te mixtures were measured in a heat flow calorimeter at 1173 K. The enthalpy surface in this system is characterized in the ternary space by a valley stretching from the minimum of the exothermic H(E) values in the Sn-Te system to the minimum in the Cu-Te system and slightly shifted to the tellurium-rich side. The experimental values were compared with those calculated from models using the literature data of the limiting binaries. The differences between observed and calculated values of the enthalpies of mixing are explained assuming ternary interactions of charged species in the liquid state.
