The techniques of alternating photocurrents and modulated photoconductivities are utilized for the characterization of BTO and BGO crystals. A vibrating interference pattern creates alternating photocurrents. Homogeneous illumination with a varying intensity yields a modulated photoconductivity. Frequency dependent measurements are performed. The results of both techniques agree rather well and charge carrier mobilities are estimated.
