dc.description.abstract | Using Auger-electron spectroscopy (AES) and RHEED it is shown that Si impurities influence the surface structure of Ir(110). Si prevents the formation of the (1 x 3) structure and stabilizes the (1 x 2) structure. The adsorption and desorption behaviour of oxygen is also changed by the presence of Si. | |
