The qualification of (prospective) physical education teachers for inclusive physical education is a central challenge for didactic research and teaching. Although a lively research discourse has developed around the topic of inclusive physical education in recent years, which, on the one hand, seeks to tie in with the more advanced international discourses and, on the other hand, has itself gained conceptual and empirical substance, there are still only a few concepts for the targeted preparation of prospective physical education teachers for inclusive physical education. In this article, published higher education teaching formats are systematically analysed and critically acknowledged. On this basis, proposals for the further development and evaluation of higher education teaching formats are formulated.
