Zusammenfassung:
It is shown that the two-wave mixing gain in a cubic photorefractive optically active piezocrystal of (111)-cut depends essentially on choice of the crystal orientation and the light waves polarization. The conditions of gain optimization for the crystal of (111)-cut by simultaneous changing the orientation and polarization angles are found. The experimental results show a satisfactory coincidence with the predictions of the theory. It is established that the maximum gain for the crystal thickness 2.1 mm is reached at values of the orientation angle θ= 0, 120°, 240° and the polarization angle ψ0= 23°. © 1999 OSA - The Optical Society.
