The compounds P2Se3Br2 1 and P2Se3I2 2 were observed in CS2 solution as by-products of the thermal synthesis of P(3)Se(4)Hal (Hal = Br, I). The analysis of their P-31 and Se-77 NMR spectra allowed to determine the structure of these molecules and revealed the relation between 1, 2 and the bicycles P(3)Se(4)Hal and P2Se5.
