Zusammenfassung:
In addition to protecting and maintaining habitats, species-specific measures such as population support and reintroduction are becoming increasingly important in order to conserve endangered species. Besides the careful selection of suitable reintroduction areas, the provenance of the plant material, the decision whether to sow or plant out juvenile plants and the application of sufficient numbers are vital to the success of such measures. This article presents practical examples of reintroductions and illustrates the cooperation among various actors. The importance of ex-situ protection and reintroduction measures under climate change is discussed. © 2021 W. Kohlhammer, Stuttgart.
