Climatic therapy: the effect on other organ systems by the example of the cardiovascular system

Abstract

The positive effect of the high-altitude climatic therapy on the atopic diseases has been known for decades. Considering contraindications that have been described, diseases of the cardiovascular system are not impeding to such a therapy. On the opposite, a number of patients with arterial hypotension or hypertension and with coronary heart disease are profiting from a stay in 1,500 m. over zero. The same is true for persons without cardiac problems. They can use the possibilities the climate offers to them for high-altitude training.
