``I cannot Work with Gloves!'' - Challenges and Solutions in the Selection of Appropriate Protective Gloves

Abstract

The selection of appropriate protective gloves is the result of a complex process as well as patient education. This article offers practical support for the counseling of patients who suffer from occupational skin diseases. Starting with the assessment of dermal exposure, the article briefly informs about current glove labeling and protection against chemicals. The relevance of glove occlusion and glove-related sensitization in workplace settings is also addressed.
