dc.description.abstractA theoretical model is developed to describe the effect of optical oscillation detected recently in a photorefractive BaTiO3 crystal subjected to two counterpropagating pairs of pump beams. The model explains the characteristic features of the above effect and predicts a number of new peculiarities that we have found in additional experiments.
